EGERSUND VISEFESTIVAL PRESENTS
AUGUST 7 - 8, 2026
EGERSUND VISEFESTIVAL is history, but the story does not end there. The Egersund Visefestival Foundation will continue, and can now proudly present Tideless 2026, a festival with focus on great music experiences and community building!
This will be a two-day festival, August 7 - 8, 2026, centered mainly around one stage, with smaller stages for narrower concerts.
The first artists will be presented in September.

WHY A NEW Festival?
Our plan is to continue what we have done best. Egersund Visefestival has grown to be too big, but also too small. We have had a limit on ticket sales, while there has been a lot happening at the same time on many different stages. Our goal is not to be as big as possible, but to ensure a good festival experience.
WHERE WILL IT HAPPEN?
the new festival will be centered around one main stage, Turnhallen, which has been the main stage at EGersund Visefestival the last couple of years, but with something extra for smaller concerts. At egersund Visefestival, too many good music experiences have collided, which we aim to avoid in the future.
Why new dates?
We have talked about moving the dates for Egersund Visefestival for many years. At the end of June / Beginning of july, and the weeks leading up to that, a lot is happening in Rogaland. In august, on the other hand, there are fewer arrangements of this type. For Egersund, we think is it an advantage to spread the arrangements, so that not everything happens within a very small period of time.
Why Change The Name?
As we no longer have a folk song festival name, we will no longer have the expectations related to that type of genre. The name has given us many challenges, some expect the story tellers and traditional folk singers on the festival programme, while others have kept away because they have an imagination of what a folk song festival is supposed to be.
STORY BEHIND THE NEW NAME?
Egersund has a unique coastal line with an amphidromic point, a form of zero point in the ocean where the tidal waters equalize themselves, meaning there is no differences between the tidal waters within 24 hours. The amphidromic point outside of Egersund is unique in Norway and Europe. It is also worth noting that this point lies in the refraction between Norwegian, English and Scottish waters - the same as much of the music we like and wish to present at the festival.
