the cardiff-based multi-artist and producer cate le bon has, over seven records - inclduing the mercury prize-nominated «reward» and the critically acclaimed «pompeii» - hone a unique voive: partly surrealistic, partly a sculptor, always in harmony with the emotional undercurrents that form her art. in addition she has made a serious mark as a producer, including the newest record from dry cleaning, wilco's «cousin, horsegirl» and not least the st. vincent grammy-winning «all born screaming».

her seventh album, «michelangelo dying», come from a place of raw feelings and reluctant vulnerability. with a touching appearance from john cale and a sonic palette that twists guitars, saxophones and synths into something both intimate and expansive, le bon once again invites us into a world where emotions override form, and abstraction becomes a form of truth.
